Sino Learn

About

Every learner deserves the material the top schools take for granted.

Sino Learn started with a simple observation: the past papers exist, the memos exist, and the learners who most need them are the least likely to have them.

The story

In a well-resourced school, a Grade 12 learner preparing for finals has a decade of past papers in a filing cabinet, a teacher who knows which questions repeat, and a tutor for the topics that will not stick.

In most South African schools, none of that is true. The papers are public documents, but they are scattered across departmental websites, saved under names like Mathematics P1 Nov 2019 Eng.pdf, and often separated from their memoranda. Finding the right paper takes longer than writing it. Marking your own work without a memo teaches you nothing.

So we built the filing cabinet. Every paper tagged by subject, grade, year, term and paper number, with its memo attached. Then we added the notes, because a paper tells you what you do not know but not how to fix it. Then we added Sino AI, because at eleven at night, the week before an exam, there is no teacher to ask.

It is free. It will stay free. A learner who cannot afford a tutor is precisely the learner this was built for.

What we hold to

Four things we will not trade away.

Free, or it doesn't work

A learner who cannot afford a tutor is exactly the learner who needs this most. The moment access depends on a subscription, we have rebuilt the problem we set out to solve.

The curriculum, not a curriculum

Everything is filed against CAPS: the right subject, the right grade, the right term. Material that does not map to what a South African learner is actually examined on does not belong here.

Method over answers

An answer gets you one mark. A method gets you the next question too. Sino AI is built to show its working, and it will not write your essay for you.

Careful with children's data

Most of our users are under 18. We collect the minimum, we never sell it, we run no advertising, and we hold ourselves to POPIA's standard for a child's information.

Where we are going

More subjects, more years, better notes. Papers going further back, and provincial papers alongside the national ones. Sino AI that knows which paper you have open and can point at the specific note that closes the gap.

If you are a teacher with material that would help other learners, or you have spotted something wrong in a paper or a memo, we would like to hear from you.
