Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses Sino Learn. It forms part of our Terms & Conditions. Breaking it can lead to your account being suspended or closed.
The spirit of it
Sino Learn exists to help you learn. Every rule below follows from one idea: the work you hand in must be your own, and nobody using this service should be harmed by someone else using it.
Examinations and assessments
Do not use Sino Learn or Sino AI during an examination, test or any assessment unless your school or the examining body has expressly allowed it. This includes controlled tests, orals, practicals and examinations set by the Department of Basic Education.
Do not use Sino AI to produce work that you submit as your own, including essays, assignments, projects and portfolio tasks. Using it to understand a method, to check your reasoning, or to practise is exactly what it is for. Using it to avoid doing the work is not.
Examination misconduct is dealt with by your school and by the examining body, and the consequences can include losing a subject or an entire year. Those rules apply to you regardless of what this policy says, and we cannot protect you from them.
Using Sino AI responsibly
You may not use Sino AI to:
- Generate work to be submitted as your own, as set out above.
- Produce content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or otherwise harmful.
- Seek instructions for anything illegal, dangerous, or that could hurt you or someone else.
- Get medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice. Sino AI is a study assistant and is not qualified to give it. If you are struggling, please speak to a trusted adult or a professional.
- Try to bypass its safety limits, extract its instructions, or manipulate it into breaking these rules.
- Submit another person’s personal information into a chat.
Sino AI can be wrong. Check anything that matters against your textbook, your memo and your teacher.
Content and conduct
When you submit feedback, a contact message, or any other content, do not include content that is:
- abusive, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or hateful, including on the grounds of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability;
- sexual content, or any content that sexualises a child;
- defamatory, or a knowing falsehood about a person or a school;
- someone else’s copyrighted material that you have no right to share;
- someone else’s personal information shared without their permission.
Remember that many Sino Learn users are children. Conduct yourself accordingly.
Technical misuse
You may not:
- scrape, crawl or bulk-download the papers, memos or notes, or redistribute or resell them;
- attempt to access another user’s account or data, or to gain administrative access;
- probe, scan or test the security of the service, or interfere with it, including denial-of-service attempts;
- introduce malware, or use the service to distribute it;
- use bots or automated tools against the service, or share your account credentials.
If you are a security researcher and you find a vulnerability, please report it to info@sinolearn.co.za rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us a reasonable chance to fix it.
How we enforce this
If we believe you have broken this policy we may remove content, warn you, suspend your account, or close it. We will act proportionately, and where it is reasonable and lawful to do so we will tell you why.
Serious matters, particularly anything involving the safety of a child, may be reported to the relevant authority.

Reporting a problem
If you see content or behaviour that breaks this policy, report it through the feedback form in the app or email info@sinolearn.co.za. If someone is in immediate danger, contact the South African Police Service on 10111.
