Who we are, and what these terms cover
Sino Learn is operated by Bonang Technologies. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the Sino Learn mobile app and this website (together, the “service”).
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Who may use Sino Learn
Sino Learn is built for learners in Grades 8 to 12 following the South African CAPS curriculum. Anyone may use it, but the content is aimed at those grades.
If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to create an account. By using the service you confirm that you have that permission. A parent or guardian who gives permission accepts these terms on the learner’s behalf and is responsible for their use of the service.
Your account
You must give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for activity that happens under your account.
Tell us immediately at info@sinolearn.co.za if you believe someone else is using your account. One account is for one person; do not share it.
Cost
Sino Learn is currently free to download and use. We do not charge for access to past papers, memos, notes or Sino AI, and we do not ask for card details. If we ever introduce a paid feature, we will say so clearly and you will never be charged without agreeing first.
How you may use the service
You may use Sino Learn for your own studying. You may not resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the material, scrape the service, attempt to break its security, or use it to harm others.
Using Sino AI to cheat in an examination or to pass off generated work as your own is a breach of these terms and may also breach your school’s or the Department of Basic Education’s rules. Our Acceptable Use Policy forms part of these terms and sets this out in full.
Study material and intellectual property
Past examination papers and their memoranda are produced by the Department of Basic Education and the provincial education departments. Copyright in those documents belongs to them. We make them available for study purposes. Sino Learn is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of the Department of Basic Education or any provincial education department.
Notes, summaries, the Sino Learn name and logo, the app, and this website belong to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them beyond your personal studying without our written permission.
If you believe material on Sino Learn infringes your copyright, email info@sinolearn.co.za with the details and we will investigate and remove it where appropriate.
Sino AI
Sino AI is an automated study assistant. It can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. It is not a teacher, a tutor, an examiner or a marker, and its answers are not an official interpretation of the curriculum or of any examination.
Always check important work against your textbook, your memo and your teacher. You are responsible for the work you submit at school.
Availability
We work to keep Sino Learn available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service, and we may add or remove material, at any time.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, or if we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.
You may close your account at any time from the app, or by emailing info@sinolearn.co.za.
Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or any other law that cannot be excluded.
Subject to that, the service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for any examination result, mark or academic outcome arising from your use of the service. Sino Learn is a study aid; your results depend on your work.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information under POPIA, including the extra care we take with information about learners under 18. It forms part of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service develops. We will update the “Last updated” date above, and where a change materially affects you we will tell you in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Questions about these terms: info@sinolearn.co.za, or write to Sino Learn, Eglin Road, Sandton, 2191, Johannesburg, South Africa.
